The ArtQuest Gallery is graciously endowed by Ellen H. Martin, Charles N. Martin, and The Martin Foundation and supported by The William Stamps Farish Fund.
ArtQuest is a colorful, exciting interactive education gallery where visitors of all ages discover exciting ways to learn about art. Thirty hands-on stations provide individuals or small groups the chance to experiment and learn about a variety of art concepts. The stations in ArtQuest relate art concepts to the world-class exhibitions in the Frist Center galleries and examine ways in which art relates to everyday life and culture.

The activities in ArtQuest address three areas of art learning: Art Essentials Art Essentials activities examine specific elements of art, such as line, color and texture. Art Materials and Techniques Art Materials and Techniques activities encourage visitors to create artworks using a variety of artistic media and methods. Art and Meaning Art and Meaning activities provide visitors with opportunities to think about and discuss art with others. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while in ArtQuest.
ArtQuest Journal and Art Supplies Visitors to ArtQuest may use the ArtQuest Journal. This publication is designed to allow visitors to document their experience in ArtQuest and to continue that experience once they leave the Center. Visitors may purchase the Journal in the Frist Center Gift Shop. Also, available for purchase are packets of art supplies used in ArtQuest.
ArtQuest Card and Digital Portfolio Visitors are able to develop their own digital portfolio, which contains works of art they create in ArtQuest. The portfolio may be accessed in the ArtQuest Gallery or in the Art Library and Resource Center via the ArtQuest Card, or on-line at www.projectaccess.org via your ArtQuest ID number.
